Fergus Brothers, Greencock CDV box and image
Exquisite rare cdv box for Fergus Brothers, Greencock which is located in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. These cdv boxes are extremely hard to find and this one is just stunning with a lilac color that is most unique. The back has the illustration of a hand holding a torch with Artis Amica Nostre on the border which seems to have a loose translation of art is our friend(?). This box was purchased empty but we found a Fergus Brothers, Greencock cdv for an example to include in the box. The image is a smiling bearded gentleman which is identified on the back as C.A.M., 24th June 1872. There is a simple photographer’s stamp also on the back. The box is in excellent minus condition in our opinion with some light wear and tiny marks. The cdv is also in excellent minus condition with great tones and contrast with just a hint of wear as seen.
